Oil pressure transmitter

Hi All,
I just bought an oil pressure transmitter/transducer part number C15474ES for a 4.2 block but the thread isn't correct. Has anyone else had problems like this? The diameter of the new transmitter is slightly larger that the part that came out and wont fit into the block. I don't know what the exact thread in the block should be, is there any way of finding out? Many thanks

Hi Bernie....is this an e type block or xj6....i know there was some mismatch on your numbers....the new part number you have is the correct one..but what filter head do you have fitted....think xj6 have a different thread on the transmitter....as a rough guide they can be 5/8unf or 1/8ntp....the dia of the ntp is approx10mm the unf 16mm............Steve

Its a 7Exxxx-9 block so correct, oh it were that easy!

You obviously have the correct block, but the issue is: do you have the correct oil filter head attached (there are several versions and they were interchangeable to some degree). I think you should have a Tecalemit FA2119 if I’m not mistaken...someone please correct me if I am.

Im a bit confused, the transducer unit screws directly into the screwthread in the block

This is a transducer oil pressure on one side and sends an electrical signal to the pressure gauge on the other I thought. Does it not fit directly into the block?

Bernie:

The oil pressure sending unit you bought (C15474ES) does NOT screw into the block directly but rather into the top of the alloy Tecalemit filter head (which, in turn, holds the oil filter canister). The filter head resides on the right side of the block directly under the carbs.
