#1 Differential Rebuilds
Hello Gents,
I will shortly be at the stage in the rebuild of my 1967, Series 1, 4.2 OTS to address the differential.
Would any member of the Forum be in a position to recommend a company to undertake the reconditioning of the LSD? As there are so many "experts" out there, a recommendation from an E-Type owner who has already gone through this process, (or knows someone who has already been through it), would be a great help and really much appreciated.
Many thanks gents (and ladies of course). Yours aye,
George

Hi,
Alan Slawson- AJS Engineering in Essex. There’ll be a waiting list I expect. I had my 3.8 us spec rebuilt by him and a 3.07 crown wheel & pinion swapped in to bring back to uk spec.

Hi George,
Had my 3.54 LSD diff completely rebuilt and changed to 3.07 crown wheel & pinion with LSD full UK spec by Hardy Engineering in Leatherhead, Surrey who are ' old skool ', they did a great job & I am one very happy customer. Ask for Bill or Neil
PS: No connection apart from being a customer.

Ken Jenkins succeeded in building a quiet diff for my car where others had failed twice.

Mike, (Nickleback),
A nice looking diff.
It may pay you to reverse your four top damper bolts, as the normal convention is to have the nuts on the outside of the cage to permit damper removal whilst the cage is fitted to the car. The bolts as fitted in your photo cannot be removed once fitted into the car.
Nice to see you have had the handbrake mounting modified and sleeved to permit better function.
Regards,
Dave
P.S. I’ve only just been able to respond to you due to the website being down. Many congratulations to David and all involved in getting the site back in operation.

Thanks Dave,
They were swooped around before refitting. Yes handbrake mod & remote bleed were on my specification to make life easy
