#1 water temp sender thread type

Post by MarkRado » Tue Jul 09, 2019 5:47 am

Hi all, upon removing the sender (c16895) from a 4.2 inlet manifold, the thread was damaged, no surprise, so time for helicoil. It seems to be 15,8mm o/d with a very fine pitch, ca 22tpi ( therefore no BSP). Is this a 5/8 UNF? Thank you

The sender part number is C16895 which is the same for the 3.8, and 4.2.

I have a 3.8 water manifold but no sender. I just tried a 5/8" 18tpi UNF tap in the hole and it went in easily with just my fingers, so I think it's probably the right one.
Andrew.

Thank you Andrew, I'll get a 5/8 helicoil.
