Gauges show wrong readings sometimes

Hello Jaguar Gearheads,

i got a 64 3.8 coupe. During the last drives the indications of fuel, water temperature and oil pressure gauges go down and then up again to normal readings simultaniously.
What could be wrong?

They are all fed from the same fuse so maybe it is loose?

Much more likely to be the instrument voltage regulator mounted behind the rev counter. Solid state ones are now available to replace the mechanical version.
