#1 Wiring query

Post by AshM » Fri Jun 07, 2019 3:54 pm

A quick wiring question if I may.

As background I have fitted new engine looms (AutoSparks). Obviously these come into the car and connect to various points behind the dash.

All fine with the new connectivity but I have discovered a spurious original wire that I am not sure whether it has always been disconnected or I have disturbed it. Its position in the picture is just where I have laid it out to make it easy to see.

I have cleaned it up and I think it is red/black but also appears to have a blue trace ring too? I have checked all of my fuses and switches against the wiring diagrams and they all appear to be as expected.

Any ideas anyone?

thanks
Ash

Ash, I made a list of wires for the S2 in pdf form:

Red/Black to headlight switch from fuse 5
Red/Blue panel edge lights from switch
Red/Brown RWH relay C2 to warning light
Red/Brown panel light switch to panel light resistor

I've got one or two wires behind my dash that seem to go nowhere but can't get in to check until next week

Red/Blue is for panel edge lights (the three that illuminate the switch indicator strip).

You did indeed - I included the diagram as it shows three red/blue wires and not sure which one is disconnected.
