This part was included in parts supplied with my series 2 . Does anybody know if this is actually from a series 2 or an earlier model ? It is vinyl covered and looks as though it could fit under the centre dash ? Details as per images.
Many thanks ,
Greg

Hi,
It looks like the wiring loom cover that sits under the passenger side footwell, running down from the grab handle into the footwell. BD20728/1.
However yours looks a bit narrower. Maybe a finisher strip between instrument panel & radio console?

I don't think that's what it is Richard, unless someone has made it custom. They, as you say are fatter; maybe 35mm wide.
It does look like it would fit under the console as it has the 4 screw holes spaced about right, but it doesn't look correct either.
I wonder as Greg says whether it's maybe from a saloon or something else.

Correct. It's a finisher piece under the fold-down centre panel.
Now where did I put that part....???

Agree.... from the photo it looks like the rubber "light blocking" strip which is attached to the metal strip which then screws under the instrument flap. Once fitted, this seems to prevent the instrument panel from folding down without the radio console being moved forward.

What series E type does this fit ? I have a series 2 and I can't see it fitting this model.
