I changed my gearbox oil for Redline MTL90 once, on an all synchro box.
I immeadiately got crunching in 2nd and third gears.
I changed it back to thick old EP90. The syncho action returned. All fixed. Been perfect for the last few years now.
I also had an oil leak which i fixed quickly without taking the gearbox out.
The selector fork o rings had failed. They can be replaced with the box in situ. Take the top off. The speedo drive o ring was also also loose and leaking.
Both items replaced on a Sunday morning, no bother and little cost.
No leaks now
