Hi Gents,
I am very close to the completion of the body shell restoration of my 1967, Series 1, 4.2 OTS but have hit a problem with the bonnet gap. We have managed to get all the gapping round the doors and boot really even but on fitting the bonnet, I have come across a gapping problem. With no shims fitted between the bonnet hinges and the bonnet I have a significant gap all along the edge of the bulkhead where the bonnet rests on the landing seal.
I have heard that modified hinges may be available to fix this problem, i.e. to bring the bonnet several mm closer towards the windscreen, so here I am on the forum seeking help.
Have any of you heard of such modified hinges and if so, where I should go to source them.
Many thanks as always gents, (and ladies of course!).
Yours aye,
George
