#1 Should there be a hole here?
Series 1 2+2.
Hi there is a hole at the top of the windscreen pillar on my car. The photo is of the drivers side (UK). The other side hole has been filled. I ask because part of the edges of the hole appear to be straight as though metal was cut to give a rectangular hole.
Thanks
Steve

I'm afraid not. The pillar should be unperforated throughout its length

Thanks Christopher, I half suspected that.
I have had a dig around in there this morning and found the end of a small ( 4mm outside diameter) rubber pipe.
Better get welding this afternoon.

The presence of a tube is unusual, unless your car is one of the very rare ones with a factory metal sunroof

Hi, no sign of it ever having had a sunroof. I will investigate the tube further if I can get at it.

The tube isn’t the remains of a roof mounted aerial by chance?

Could it be that a p/o has installed his own drain tube? Where does the other end of the tube go?

Bet it is the remnants of the roof lining side trim.

Hi and thanks for the suggestions. I am thinking that it is part of the headlining trim. The tube is only about 2mm bore and 4mm OD so not much use for anything.
Thanks for the responses. I have another topic on here 'loft insulation ' If you would care to look at that one please.
Thanks
Steve
