Just wondered how the preformed foam seal that sits on top of the radiator should be fixed?...............glue of some sort or otherwise?
I see from a search of old Postings here that double-sided tape has been used!

I affixed mine to the inside of the bin.
Have a standard S1 cooling system with the exception of a CoolCat fan upgrade, and I don't miss the foam seal at all, even in 105F (40C) heat. Not concours, sure, but one less thing to keep clean under bonnet.

Tim - I'm not sure they ever were fixed - which is why I think they so often subsequently went missing or got discarded. Possibly not one of Jaguar's better improvements: like many I got one in the interests of 'completeness', tried getting it to stay in place a few times but then gave up, don't seem to notice any detrimental effect on cooling by not having it in place, and nowadays wonder more about the detrimental effect that having a big block of foam trapping moisture and rubbing grit against the underside of the bonnet would have......
Steve - Not sure they have any rightful place on a Series 1 anyway do they?

I don't know if they were original to S1's, but my car had a shaped piece of foam glued to the top of the rad when I purchased it. I removed it almost immediately because it was so ratty looking.
