Series 1 insulation on floors

Hi guys
Just getting my car back from totally Respray and restoration ready fo me to carry on.
Anyone suggest what I put on the floors throughout, insulation and then carpet? anyone bought any carpet sets and are they any good

Are you going to trim the car yourself? If not your trimmer will have a favourite type of insulation.

The cars originally had a spray bitumen material under the interior paint. And a weird glued bitumen thing with perforated holes in it that looks like some sort of biscuit.

A lot of people (myself included) like Dynamat both for quality and ease of use. Where you are using it on vertical surfaces ( including inside the doors) it is best to use a contact adhesive on the metal surface in addition to the Dynamat's glue.

There are a number of UK based companies that make trim kits for E Types, BAS and Aldridge among them. I have no experience with BAS but have used a couple of kits from Aldridge and have been very happy.

Another vote for Dynamat followed by an epdm closed call foam insulation. With mine being a roadster, I wanted to avoid the old style jute insulation as it holds moisture.

I too recommend dynamat for sound deadening then onto it add 1/2” dynaliner closed cell foam on floors under the carpet and use 1/4” on tunnel for comfort, heat insulation and more sound suppression, i did this on my S1.5 roadster, very pleased with the results. Used behind seats and in my boot too. There are cheaper products but the official USA stuff is top quality
My carpet set was from Aldridge, very pleased with it too.
