Hello, once again working on rebuilding the series 3 car. We are trying to get the servo on the bulkhead - but the frame seems to be in the way.. Is there a trick to fitting it? Don't want to remove the frame. Do you disassemble the servo - or there another way .. Engine is in already - no heater in place.. The servo looks as though it would split .. is this the way ?? Any advice gratefully received..

Assuming you have the correct servo it should fit in without any major work......full step by step detailed instructions to remove and refit in the Jag S3 service manual.....Steve

Thanks for the input ! it seems very close to fitting in - however there is a bracket on the frame tube - only small but just in the wrong place to allow it to go in easily. However emboldened by your comments and more tea - will have another go.. Cheers

It goes in from underneath without too much spillage.

The bracket you mention probably secures the end of the cylinder on the servo to the frame.
Slacken this off first, dont tighten it until the servo is loosely in place.
Then tighten them all up together.

Yes the servo goes in from below
The series 3 servo is bigger than the series 1 and 2 and won't go in from the top
You have to remove the splash panel thats underneath the servo
The end if the servo has a thread in it for the end mounting bracket that goes round the frame
