Battery size
#1 Battery size
Hi Can anyone help with the correct battery dimensions. Searching on most on-line sites for a new one, the size of battery comes up as 261mm by 170mm by 200mm as the correct size battery for a series 1 4.2 OTS. However on measuring the old battery and the tray it would seem to be 254mm by 170mm, in fact if I was to select the size as recommended it would be a tight fit, and definitely it would be impossible to secure. Has anyone else found this oddity. Thanks Sean

#2 Re: Battery size
When searching for a replacement battery take the hold down bracket with you as sizes vary even though they are all supposed to be DIN 56011 spec size - 236 x 178 x 182mm (LWH). The Halfords HBO30 is a good fit and a decent price. More info in this thread: http://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?p=135506#p135506

Batteries on the European market may be a bit different, a standard size is 242 mm x 175 mm x 190 mm, which fits the tray - at least mine. Available in 60 Ah and a lot of brands to choose from, also available in efb technology.

Thanks that's helpful. So much for supplier on-line selection. I will use the tray size as the best way to select the battery.

You need the top bracket as well! The Halfords one fits perfectly.

Hi
I've bought two batteries in the last couple of months and got them online from The Battery Shop. They give accurate dimensions for each battery and have a wide choice. You can spend many happy hours finding your ideal battery. They deliver in a couple of days for around £10. Prices are as good as anywhere else.
No connection other then as a satisfied customer.
Regards
