#1 Fluid in trans and rear diff (NOT 80-90 maybe) xke

Post by autoalain » Wed Aug 30, 2023 9:01 pm

Folks, a few experts that work on English cars in Canada, and also MOSS parts that supply a lot of
people in Canada ans U.S. says to use 20w 50w in the diff and trans in MANY cars like MGB tr6 ect ect.
Any negative comments from anyone?? just filled up both with 80 weight, maybe now I have to drain. Thanks Mike 67 xke

Depends on design and OEM recommendation.

MGB uses 20W50 engine oil in the gearbox but definitely a hypoid gear 90 weight for the diff.

You should stick to what Jaguar recommends.

Which is a Hypoy 75W/90 , or straight Hypoy 90 , and one which is specified for Limited Slip if your car has a LSD
