I have a new one to attach to the bonnet and it has no holes in it to give me a clue how to mount it.

Attaching heater air intake to bonnet
#2 Re: Attaching heater air intake to bonnet
So drill some holes - it might give you some inspiration..... to look for some pictures on the internet for air intakes which are connected to a bonnet.
kind regards

It rather depends on what you mean by "heater intake" . There are a number of different shapes I have seen , but they all attach to the rear aperture of the main left hand air trunk which is a fixed longitudinal square tube forming part of the bonnet assembly itself

Tape a piece of paper onto the opening in the bonnet, pierce the paper where the captive nut holes are with a pen.
Use this stencil to drill your holes.
You need some of the oval washers.
