Best spin on oil filter for S1?

Yes, another oil - related thread!

I have used :
FRAM PH5832
MANN 916/1

And, when it was serviced by the guys fitting the 5 speed *’box, they used Mahle OC 23.

What do you use?

Does it matter which one is used provided it’s by a reputable manufacturer?

As an aside, over a week ago I ordered the Mahle oil filter from Brands Hatch Performance (on line). They’ve taken my money but have heard nothing apart from acknowledging my order. No reply to my e-mails and no answer to my repeated telephone calls!

Richard, a search for “Fram” will give you lots of useful information, both 2995 and 2857 are mentioned.

Apparently I need an oil filter with a minimum of 45litres/min flow rate, so will check out the specs to find a suitable filter.

Thanks for the recommendation, Gfhug.

I searched the FRAM 2995 and the alternative is JAG EBC 9568 which looks ideal and am picking one up from our local JLR dealership tomorrow.

P.S. I see that the ‘German’ Mahle filters are now made in China (what isn’t these days!!).
