Hi guys can anyone tell me if there are any differences (apart from the obvious engine number) between a 3.8 s type/mk2 engine and that of the 3.8 e type?
One has come up for sale, but not sure of the internal differences if any??

Thanks that discussion didn’t really throw up any answers to any internal differences, having checked the engine number out it is in fact a 3.8 ‘s’ engine. Surely it can’t be just numbers alone that are different as an e type 3.8 engine is somewhere priced in the next stratosphere.. in contrast the ‘s’ type engine can be bought with the change in your pocket!

Wikilies suggests the difference is the E had a straight port head with triple HD8, whereas the S had the B type cylinder head and two HD6. But I can’t say it’ll be gospel
