Hi, hope you can help, I’m new to E types, my car is a series 1 2+2 1966. The engine is running fine with no water loss and no water in the oil but on the exhaust side there is moisture that appears to be generated below the cylinder head, I removed the exhaust manifolds to get a better look and I’ve added some pictures.

The car was new to me in the summer, I’ve done approximately 1700 miles and noticed this last weekend when I travelled about 100 miles, she hasn’t been run for a week but the block is still wet?

Any ideas, should I be concerned? It’s only on the exhaust side

A test is that if you have antifreeze in the cooling system you should easily tell if it is a leak by either wiping it with a clean white paper towel ( should show colour) or the taste test should show what fluid it is.
Just a thought ……is your garage dry/cold as condensation shows more on cast iron.

Thanks Paul, can’t see any colour and doesn’t taste, the garage is dry but I did give it a good wash before I put it away. Struggling a bit because it’s still wet a week later and the engine was warm when it went away, odd, I think it’s coming from somewhere

Hi Mike......use a desk fan to blow air under the car......if its condensation it wont form on a surface with air blowing over it........I keep a fan switched on the garage floor to give an air flow through the winter......Steve
