Might be delicate electrolytic pairing, the brass and the aluminium, although the manifold temperature sensor and the thermostat seem to survive ......... and as the steel original tends to weld itself to the aluminium anyway, the brass might be no worse a choice :scratchheadyellow:

You have to sacrifice a 7/8 spanner by heavily grinding the edges due to the design of the manifold

Or just use a deep well 12 pt socket...

As a footnote to this
I’ve now fitted the right angle hose that runs between the manifold and the water pump.
Sourced from one of our favourite suppliers it needed trimming by around 12mm on each end to get a reasonable fit. In reality it should be a straightforward job ( nothing is!) but my guess is that the supplier just sources a generic near enough hose leaving us to make it work.

If Fosseway can do it as a small provider then why can’t the big boys get it right .
