#1 Bonnet sideways adjustment?

Post by 00series » Sat Apr 28, 2012 11:02 am

Hi, i'm spending the next few days sorting a few niggling jobs on my Series 2.
One thing i need to do is to move the bonnet sideways by 3mm as it sits proud on the kerb side & sits internaly on the offside by the same amount.
Do i just undue the 8 bolts at the front of the bonnet & give it a shove to the side then retighten the bolts?
The gaps are passable so i don't think i need to re-shim the bonnet.
Thanks, Bert.

Yes thats just how You do it. The shims will/should control the front to back and height. Spray the area with waxoyl to help and then protect
after adjustment. You also need to adjust the bulkhead pin adjusters
so it locates at the bulkhead correctly

Hi, yes that worked a treat, the bonnet lines are looking a lot cleaner.
Thanks, Bert
