Is it a practical proposition to have a hood frame powder coated?
Would all the pivots and joints need to be disassembled first?
I need to smarten up the appearance of the frame and would like to have something more robust than paint.
Any thoughts, experiences or recommendations?
Dave.

Hi Dave,
I have had two hood frames powdercoated now without disassembling the pivots. Take off the metal canopy and have that done separately. When you get it back, just work the pivots gently and spray in WD40 and keep working it and spraying until it is clean.
Make sure you clean all the oil off as you don't want any to stain the hood canvas when fitted.

Hi Dave,
I had my hood frame stripped and e-coated by SPL in Dudley, Birmingham. I did not want to get the canopy shot blasted for fear of distorting it and due to the double skin on the V12 it would be impossible to clean the void. The finished result was superb. Before dipping it I had the paint matched using a spectrometer to ensure an exact match.
