#1 canopy panel (soft top) - measurement needed

Post by Tbob » Fri Nov 11, 2016 5:05 pm

Gents, can someone kindly provide the measurement shown below? Its the distance between the mounting points for the straps on the underside of the canopy panel. I don't have the straps yet, so I cant eyeball this measurement.

Heuer gives a measurement of 11.5", but I don't know if this is the strap length or the mounting hole centers. As always, I appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Bob,

260mm on my car, late S2. Relates to 10.5". My lift-the-dot's location differ from your picture in that they are fastened down on the narrow ledge.

Thank you Martin.

The picture I used is from an earlier car. I think I will locate mine in the same fashion - looaks tidier to me.

Bob,

might the location of the lift-the-dots be as to not interfere with the sunvisors? That is the only reason that comes to my mind. Earlier cars didn't all have sunvisors, hence the location as on your posted picture.

The visors mount at the A pillar, so I'm not sure if the straps would interfere. My car has no sunvisors, so I didn't think of that. You could be right. Ill keep that in mind before I commit to one or the other.
