On the Stromberg cars, there's a small hose that connects the radiator to the inlet. Is this a bypass of the thermostat?
When changing to 3XSUs, this doesn't have a place for the small hose.
On my Minis, when this happens we've just drilled a shall hole in the thermostat to let some water seep through at startup.
That's one solution, the other is to plumb this into the small triangular plate.
Any experience? Any advise?

If you bought the SU kit from Burlen Ltd, there is a brass plug which is fitted in the small rubber hose when you cut the hose close to the radiator along with a small jubilee clip to clamp it.

I bought the SUs second hand. Have you got a picture of said set up?Nigel GT wrote:If you bought the SU kit from Burlen Ltd, there is a brass plug which is fitted in the small rubber hose when you cut the hose close to the radiator along with a small jubilee clip to clamp it.

The small hose is an air bleed. Just cut the hose off near the radiator and plug it with a suitable piece of rod, held with the hose clamp previously fitted to the S2 manifold.
