Thanks guys

I have a lot of work to do tonight but am finding it difficult to concentrate!

You may have noticed an unsightly bauble under the carpeting at the footwell - it's cabling. Will be covered inside the carpet to round it off a bit better. And of course the footmats are wrapped in brown paper. Awaiting rubber mats from UK.

I have a list of questions that I shall dripfeed into the forum in the appropriate spots once she's in my custody.

I am like the kid whose Christmas present has just gone back to the shop for one or two little things, and now needs to concentrate on his schoolwork.

I know self-replies are not done.... but.

Steve's diplomatic PM interventions confirmed my suspicions that something was amiss with the size of the gaiter - the gaiter was extended to envelop its rubber 'stand', making it too big and puffy. This is being attended to, amongst various other little things.

My gratitude to Steve.

Watch this space.

frank,
post a picture of your speedometer. the little numbers printed on it will tell you which ratio was originally installed. hopefully your speedo is original.

Thanks Ed

The axle ratio issue was sorted out relatively speedily - and the speedo markings were correct according to the info posted by Heuer for a 3:31 RHD model (i.e. 6322/00 1216), which it has turned out to be, and always to have been.

#26 Gaiter sorted

Post by Vonkie » Thu Nov 30, 2017 5:11 pm

Gaiter sorted.

Had to wait quite a while for the pedestal and then the first new chrome ring disappeared in the mail.

Thanks especially to Steven

Weird - I posted this a few hours ago, and the post did not go through.

Let's try again

What's also weird is that the 'post image' feature posts an image twice - one needs to delete one of them

Posted a better cockpit - not in workshop with bonnet open
