Glasses and windshield

Dear all:

I've been surfing the different debates on which one seems to be the best windshield replacement option (in my case, for a Series 1 FHC). I've also to consider replacement of the windows glasses. Two providers are recommended, SNG Barratt and Pilkington, but it seems people needed up to three different windshields before achieving a decent result, which scares me. What is the current state of this debate? Any useful recommendations or insights?
