#1 asbestos and gaskets

Post by Landcrab » Sat Oct 21, 2017 4:09 pm

Hello!

I know that this topic has been up before but I can´t find a relevant answer.

Does anyone know of a visual and performance similar material to use as substitute for the various asbestos boards found on the E type?. Silencer heat shields, Fluid bottle shield on LHD cars.

And then if there is a material today that matches the woven gaskets that was used between the engine frames and aluminium shields underneath the car? This material was also used between the bonnet guides bolted to the bulkhead and probably somwere else as well.

Hi Johan,

For the first point, I bought new parts so I don't have the answer.
For the second point, look at the "Factory fit - 3.8l" page 6.
You have an interresting solution.

Hope it help you.
