#1 Security stuff

Post by ETTony » Fri Feb 09, 2018 9:20 am

Team,
Before fitting the interior, I will add some security.
Thinking of taking wires from fuel and coil to a relay thing, which I would then operated with a blipper thing.

Up to now I have not yet found what I want online (probably not looking in the right place)
I do want to do this myself and not resort to a mobile auto elect.

Your advice is most welcome as usual.

There is a Product on Amazon that as far as I have seen should be easily installed without doing any moderations to the car. Would be very interesting if someone have some experience from this. Remote controlled main switch for the battery.

Hi Tony

These guys have appeared fairly recently and are classic car enthusiasts themselves. I met them at the NEC in November. No connection.

They are DIY fit.

Tony, several of us have fitted a relay or switch to isolate the coil and fuel pump, and there is an example (no. 3) in here: https://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/relay-guide.html of using a relay with a hidden switch that prevents the car from starting without pressing it.
Happy to explain how I did it by a PM

Some good ideas there guys thanks.
I do have my own tracker that I hide away in my P&J.
But imobiliser and alarm would be good.
