#1 Steel/chrome vs Brass/chrome headlight surrounds.

Post by rswaffie » Fri Apr 13, 2018 12:48 pm

Hi,
Has anyone purchased and fitted the chrome on steel S1 headlight surrounds that Robey's sell? They are less expensive than the original spec brass option, but I didn't know if that meant they had any particular drawbacks? The only one I could think of is that brass is softer than steel so it may be easier to fit them to the contours of the bodywork. Thoughts anyone?

I contacted Robey’s a couple of weeks back about there headlight surrounds, they no longer manufacture chrome on steel they only manufacture chrome on brass and they were on a 5 week lead time.
Regards, Julian.

Ok, thanks Julian. They didn't mention that when I enquired about the part number!
