#1 floor repair

Post by yev » Fri Jun 08, 2018 7:24 pm

hi. I have some rust at the front of the floor boards both sides RH/LD . around 6 inch on each side needs to be replaced. I wanted to buy new sections from SNGB (not expensive) but my welder telling me that it is a crazy idea to replace whole board and he wants me to just buy some offcuts which he can put in to place.
anyone got anything kicking around??? also looks like those parts have jacking points? or am I mistaken?

Hello yev,
Its rather unlikely that you will find extreme front off cuts, as this is the most rust prone area and therefore, the part of a new floor most likely to be consumed.

Separate Front and Rear, half floor panels are available to purchase.

Regards,

Bill

Have a look on the SNG Barrett site. It will all be there.

There are no "jacking points" as such at the front of the floor, although some do use that area with hoists.

Hello yev,
You may do better at Martin Robey. Following is a link to what you want.

The 2+2 does indeed have a jacking point at each corner of the floor (front and back), complete with a lug to secure your car's jack to. If the rust in the Front Floor is severe, the inside area of the front floor, corresponding to the position of the jacking point lug on the underside (extreme forward/outside corner of the floor), has a reinforcement bracket that may also be profoundly affected by rust. This parts comes as a separate part and it may well be worth investigating if you require this part before you order the floor.

Bill
