#1 fuse blow
can some one help, i have a series 1 2+2 1967. ive had an issue with the 35 amp fuse blowing which controls gauges and indicators, ive done some checks and found that when i put it in reverse the battery meter wams over to the right and that blows the fuse, ive disconnected the reverse light and checked the switch on the gearbox with a meter and this is ok, ive checked resistance from switch wire to lamp and ok green brown, but the green wire behind dash shows earth continuity is this correct

You need to isolate both ends of the green wire at both the switch end and the fuse end or else your continuity measure will be measuring the resistance to ground of something else on the same fuse holder as the reverse light. If the meter shows huge discharge only when you select reverse you do have a short but the short must be beyond the switch so I'd be suspecting the light fitting itself or where the light fitting wire comes through the boot floor.
