Hi,
I have a series 1 2+2 1966 and it is currently being trimmed. The trimmer tells me there should be a piece of trim that goes between the boot openings rubber (lower part) and the trimmed piece of aluminium that goes vertically below the boot opening. He thinks its mouldable plastic that you apply heat to to shape round the back edge of the boot.
I don't think its very wide but does anyone know what he is talking about as I cannot see this in any of the trim kits. Perhaps it is strip sold by the roll or something. The boot interior is red so I don;t know if its something that was black or colour coded.
many thanks
Chris

Hello Chris,
your trimmer is probably referring to this extruded trim piece.

I don't think that it's available in red

If BAS, Aldridge, Skinner’s and seemingly everyone but Lakeland do not seem to sell this profile what do trimmers normally do?
Would this profile have been interior colour?
Do they just use a flap of vinyl from the aluminium panel below?
Thanks
Chris

Our trimmer reuses the old ones as they don't seem to be available.

Hi Chris,
I have also reused the old one, which is black. This is a picture of the edge trimmed in leather (not my E).

#7 Re: Help with rear boot trim
After many hours of searching I found that the part number is;
BD20163
XKS in the USA do make 3 colours; black, green and red. They call it Jaguar Hatch Finisher and Manners call it rear door finisher.
Manners also sell it in Black for £33.60 including VAT.
Thanks all for pointing me in the right direction.
Incidentally once I had the part number it threw up this old restoration thread;

Thanks
