#1 Interior grab handle to A Pillar fixings??

Post by Jeremy66 » Sat Sep 08, 2018 12:26 pm

Does the grab handle chrome fixing attach to the A-pillar via self tapping screws or is the pillar threaded?

Thanks

Hi
Mine was attached with two slot head self tappers, however I would check the jaguar spare parts manual where it should be listed.
I’m away at Goodwood but will check when I return

Hi again
Its attached by two self tapping slot headed screws
Page 242 of spare parts catalogue.
Part no. BD 540/19 BUT its not listed as available on sngb website
I’m sure it’s just a question of purchasing appropriate screws from a supplier

Hi Robbie

Thanks very much for that, much appreciated, it feels like a bodge but if it was good enough for Jaguar it’s good enough for me - and I spent plenty of years hanging on to the one in my dads car as a kid so it’s obviously strong enough!

Hi Jeremy
I can assure you it’s a strong fix.....it took a massive effort to unscrew it when stripping the car!!
BTW I’ve managed to give the leather handle a good clean and polish..the stuffing is a little hand shaped but nice and original !
Regards
