#1 Dash trim detail help please

Post by Jeremy66 » Tue Sep 18, 2018 8:38 pm

I’m putting the last bits of trim and door rubbers on the car at the moment, I have the trimmed ‘triangles’ and a post hockey sticks ready to go on but I can’t remember if there should be a bit of black vinyl stuck to the ‘wings’ that the dash panels bolt to at each side, at present painted metal may be seen which can’t be correct, can someone advise / put a photo up please?

Thanks

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

Yes black vinyl the same as the dash. I can post pics if you need but I think it’s self explanatory.

Some pics that might help. I bottled trimming the dash panels and got Hutsons to do it for me and included the tabs. The tabs you see were glued to the back of the dash panel metal with the studs going through them. It shouldn’t be difficult to achieve the same effect by slackening the dash fixings and sliding the vinyl behind. They extend about 65mm from the edge of the dash panels.
Have you got some dash vinyl?

The tabs still need gluing to the A posts.

Thanks Simon

Can’t see the images for some reason?

I have some spare hockey stick trim after BAS sent me double my order so that should be the right stuff.

Fortunately the dash panels came up nicely with a bit of elbow grease, I did get my trimmer to recover the dash top tho which I’m very pleased with. (Screen mirror rod cut out not done at this point).

Hi Jeremy, strange, showing up for me? Perhaps Imgur is/was down?
PM me an Email if they still don’t show.
