#1 Heated Rear Window wiring route

Post by paulsco » Wed Oct 17, 2018 4:44 pm

Hi,

I asked this question on JL and had some helpful answers, but not specific to the Series One.

The wiring loom from the rear hatch is strapped to the hinge, but where does it go through the body to connect up with the wires that come over the inside of the wheel arch?

The pictures kindly uploaded to JL show two positions for later Series Two cars, but there is no corresponding hole in my 65.

Before I take the plunge and drill a hole, could someone please tell me how or where these wires were originally fitted?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul, the wires (2, sheathed on a single outer, should emerge from the cavity through a small hole that's about 1 inch to the rear of the mounting bracket of the tailgate hinge to which the wires are strapped. I can't seem to attach a photo to this post (the postimage icon isn't appearing)..... .? But if you PM me with an email address I can send you a close up photo of mine during dismantling, all correct I believe.
