Hi everyone,
I realise that this subject has been discussed before, but I am wondering if there is now a supplier of these elusive items?!!

Any help would be very much appreciated.

George:

If you’re talking about the white plastic canceling ring that resides inside the turn signal switch, there’s good news: XK’S Unlimited in the U.S. sells these items for U.S. $19.

Hi Alan,

Many thanks for the reply, but it's the castellated ring (usually white plastic) that the two 'fingers' from the switch itself engage with to cancel the indicators that I'm seeking.

Regards,

George

George:

Understood.

No...I’ve never seen those for sale from the usual vendors here in the States.

Maybe you can find someone with a 3-D printer to make a small batch?

Good luck,
Alan

Someone on J-L made one on a 3D printer. Worth checking over there and see if he can make more or offer the data.

Hi David,

Thanks for the reply and all I have seemed to turn up on the JL site is the smaller white 'spring-like' part that is integral to the switch and not the castellated cancelling ring...

If anyone has a scan of this I'd welcome a copy of the data.

Thanks,

George

Just been told that Marek makes the cancelling ring. Suggest you PM him.

Marek, can you share a photo of the cancelling ring?

Also, I was looking for someone that remakes the plastic end of the indicator stalk - anyone out there does it?..

You'll have to send me your email address - I don't have a copy of it to hand any more. Alternatively, there ought to be some pictures on J-L if you search there.

kind regards
Marek

I have one more question on the cancelling ring issue. It seems my striker has the 'tongue ' broken.

It's probably part no c16451.

This is how it looks like:

Anyone has a ring like mine and could possibly measure the total length of this tongue?

I would be most grateful...

Hi Tadek,

Don’t have it to hand so can’t measure it for you, but here is a decent picture to give you an idea:

Cheers.

Thanks!

Seems like 26.6-27mm to me.

Jaguar would have used imperial measures so it will be in inches and/or fractions of inches. Never try measuring anything on an E-Type in metric! That is probably why many reproduction parts don't fit.

How does 1 1/16" sound? :geek:
:-)

1" sounds more correct for a non critical part.

Simon,

Does this setup require the plastic ring?? I can't see it in the part's manual..

I have a '63 3.8 and am wondering if I need the plastic cancelling ring - it was not there when I bought te car, but then the steering column was in a mess..
