Hi all. I’m well stuck into the metalwork on my series 1 fhc. I’m wondering if anyone who’s done similar can have a look at the pic and let me know if this is normal? The return lip has been dressed flat on the rearmost half of the arch. This would be the closest point to the wheel/tyre. I’ve kind of come to the conclusion that’s it’s its been badly done at some point to fit a larger wheel/tyre, but it’s an early car and the general metalwork is not exactly great, so I do wonder. Thanks. Chris

My guess would be someone has run 205 section tyres on it , and has had to dress the flange back on itself so as to be able to get the wheels on/off . It certainly should be a 90 degree ( or thereabouts ) angle at the flange

Thanks, I assumed that was the case. Just trying to prevent any nasties once painted. Ta.
