#1 Hood folding

Post by PierreW » Sun Jul 02, 2023 6:50 am

hello all
I would like to know if there is a particular procedure to follow to correctly fold the hood and what is its final position when it is folded. I am attaching a photo of mine folded but it seems to me that it does not go down enough. Do you have photos of yours?

Before folding run a duster over the plastic screen to avoid scratches and use your hand to make sure there is no crease in it as the hood lowers. I then usually press down on each side to make sure it is seated down as far as possible. This means the hood cover should fit properly. Here is mine before fitting the cover:

Pierre, if you look carefully at your photo and then David's, note that yours has the "upper" fold towards the center of the assembly, whereas David has that same loop pulled to the back. I try to do mine like Davids. In the photo below, I believe yours is folded like below, I believe the dotted green line shows how David's is.

Thanks for those answers, I thought the whole thing should go down much more like a roadster and not like a convertible.

One other related tip: As I fold my hood, I place a rolled up bath towel on the plastic rear screen to cause the screen to curve somewhat gently without forming a crease.
