#1 parts questions

Post by yev » Wed Jun 19, 2019 10:11 am

hi guys
i have 2x questions:
just ordered new fuel tank from MR . my existing tank sump didnt screw all the way, so i ordered replacement one from SNGB ( i had load of other parts coming from them) but have exaclty the same problem.
is there a specific tank sump need to be used?

also- my current clutch master cylinder (p/n c26531) is leaking so i ordered replacment (p/n C27186) but it looks totally different.
i googled c26531 and nothing coming up.
SNGB answer to me on both : they supplied me correct parts for my car (S1 2+2)

anyone can explain this pls?

Hi Yev......the correct cylinder is C27186.......re tank sump the part is C19302.....but it screws onto a tank sump screwed ring part C19298....perhaps this part is faulty on your car......Steve

I also seem to remember there is a seal that should be fitted when you screw the sump onto the tank....made of fibre or possibly cork?

Hi Yev......you have a new tank from MR.......Martin Robey i assume.....and a new sump from SNG......they dont fit together......suggest you call MR to see whats supplied and if the SNG sump should fit....is the sump ring already fitted to the tank...is it removable or comes permenantly fixed to the tank....is the thread damaged on either part and deep enough for both parts to fit together......Steve

Not that it makes much difference unless you have a very early car but please can you add the model and date to your signature. Have you got all the pieces?
