Hello guys.
I'm looking for a bit of advice on changing my gearbox oil. I have looked into it a bit but getting varying answers on the best oil to put in there. It's a 1962 3.8 fhc with correct factory fit 4 speed moss box.
Thanks in advance Paul.

Redline MTL.
Used it in my Healey 3000 moss box and now in my 63 FHC. Once warm, really helps the gear changes and makes it a nicer box to use.

I recently switched to Redline MTL in my ‘64 OTS Moss gearbox and noticed a marked improvement in shifting.
Be forewarned, however, that if your gearbox has any leaks they are likely to get worse with MTL.

I would reinforce this. For some strange reason, whilst Redline MTL has a higher viscosity (75/80) it is very, very thin when cold. As such, any seepage you would have from the seals with thicker gearbox oil will be exacerbated with MTL.

It also takes a few hundred miles before you notice any benefits to shifting. Most people say the same but no one can come up with an explanation as to why
