Hi,
Looking at reproduction early 3.8 Butlers numberplate light bezels, comparing the originals (image 1) to the items available from RS Panels and Classic Quality (image 2) the script seems to be stamped upside down. Am I right here? Surely this wouldn’t pass scrutiny by the rivet counters.

James told me he was making them again after a NOS pair sold on Ebay for £500. I didn't know he was making them for Australia though! Next time I speak to him I'll mention it, but, as a past concours judge, I doubt I would have noticed it really. Too busy thinking of Lucas, no name at all, and hoping for Butler I guess. They existed up until the end of February 1962 we think - that's the latest I have seen them on an original car anyway.

Originals have been found with the 'Butlers England' in both orientations, so both correct. More info here: http://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?p=35522#p35522

I’ve actually been in correspondence with James from RS and he’s looking into it but now you’ve answered my question. Thanks
