#1 Headliner supplier

Post by JD-JAG66 » Thu Apr 23, 2020 8:47 pm

Hello,
Need to replace the headliner on my series 1, 2+2.
SNG Barratt doesn't supply this so I did the classic google search, which yielded quite a lot of results.
Since some suppliers are using the same picture to advertise their product but the price, pending on location can be quite different, I am not too sure about placing an order anywhere.
So, looking for some advice on headline trim suppliers.
Obviously, shipment speed is not really a concern in these times, if anything can be shipped at all really.
But any feedback on who you used, satisfaction with the supplied product etc... would be most welcome.

Thanks
JD

My first port of call for anything like this would be to Jack at BAS in Wales.

BAS actually make a considerable amount of the actual material that is used by many other Jag trimmers in the UK, and around the world. I visited their factory and was amazed to see so much stuff actually being manufactured.

Add to that the fact they trim cars themselves, to a standard that is recognised as being amongst the best in the UK, and the advice you will get will be informed advice.

BAS sold me the stuff to trim the bits I could do myself, and then finished the rest off when I took them the car, and they were a delight to deal with from start to finsh.

:yeahthat:

I agree with Rory, BAS are an excellent supplier and source of information.

I think the material is called West of England cloth and can be bought from BAS, Woolies Trim and several other suppliers.

I find both Woolies and BAS very easy to deal with. No connection to either.

Eric Suffolk (Suffolk&Turley) is a Jaguar - only specialist, but a trimmer.

I think this is the correct address:
https://www.martrim.co.uk/car-trimming- ... lining.php

Can anyone though provide an answer which one is the correct one?
Carmel, Beige or Cream? or other?

I think it depends on your interior colour, which I don't think you've told us.

My red interior has a grey headlining.

Well, I thought it was independent of the interior colour..

Mine (will) be red.

So, grey, you say?

Another thumbs up for Martim. Tel: +44 (0) 1270 767771
Good to deal with and they're still open. Ordered some materials from them recently and it arrived the next day.

I can thoroughly recommend GB Classic Trim near Nuneaton. They did an excellent job of trimming my 3.8 OTS at the end of last year. Contact there is Graham Watkins on 02476 325928

That's what came with my full red trim kit from BAS.

I'm sure I checked it all in the originality guides at the time.
