#1 P-clips on Series 1 3.8 for a LHS car - help needed

Post by ysmalkie » Thu Aug 27, 2020 7:52 pm

I have posted this thread on JL and thought someone might help from the e-type Forum:

https://forums.jag-lovers.com/t/p-clips ... ded/394786

Once a complete list is established, I am happy to post it on the Factory Fit section..

Cannot help you as both my cars have been extensively molested over the years but I would love to see that list and pics in the factory fit section. Thank you for compiling it.

Hi Tarek

Not an additional clip, just a better photo of the 2 each side in the bonnet mouth adjacent to the horns

I also found this clip on the RH side:

I also found another clip on a S1 4.2 that I have never seen before:

It's from 1E10310 OTS '65, a very original, low mileage car.

Anone has seen this one on a 3.8?

I could not find it on any other well preserved S1 (3.8 or 4.2) car.

Hi Tadek
Re the last image of the tacho drive cable P clip to inlet manifold stud. I have checked images of seven apparently unrestored 3.8s covering 1961 to 1964 and none have the clip. Six 4.2s in similar condition from 1964 to 1966 all do have the clip.

Thanks Bob.

Have you by any chance found any other clips except for the ones mentioned on JL on the post I did??..

BTW, there is one more plastic clip I noticed on a 4.2 but have not seen on the 3.8.

Do you see in on any original photos on S1 3.8 you have?

Hi Tadek,
Sorry, I can't help on either of those issues but if I come across anything I will let you know.
