#1 looking for TRIPLEX logos for '68

Post by ysmalkie » Tue Nov 03, 2020 1:35 pm

I have almost completed entire table of logos for S1 e-type. All I am missing are logos from '68.

The '68 & '69 are special years as a lot of changes were made to the logos.

If anyone can take a photo of their glass, I would really appreciate it. I will post the results once I have the complete table.

Thanks so much Chris -

I presume the windscreen logo is at the bottom of the page?

Windscreen is Q3, so you car is a late '68, I presume?

I think the door window is actually a February '72 - is it possible?

Do you have photos of the boot window or read side windows by any chance?

I'll take some more photos tomorrow. I am surprised that the side window is 1972 but it might have been changed before I purchased it in 1977.

Hi again,
Yes the windscreen was the bottom photo in my original post and the car is a late 1968 (S1.5) RHD.
I have attached on this post: 1. the rear hatch window, 2. the rear passenger side window and 3. the passenger side wind-down window (this is different from the driver's side and so as you say must be from a later supply -maybe it was broken at some stage in 1972).

Many thanks Chris.

Windshield is '68 April.
Passanger window is a '68 May.
Near side rear window is December '69.
Driver window is '72 February.

I cannot see the rear window too well - If you tell me the dots over the TRIPLEX and under LAMINATED I can tell you the dating.

It Says M 23 and D??
AS2 at the top would be normal for non-windscreen type glass.

The 1st 2 are definitely original, so someone must have broken in twice! :-)

Bob,
Many thanks - very correct May '69 glass!

Could I possibly ask you to photograph the side windows?

as requested.
its an OTS so no more glass !

also , interesting its a May windshield, I have found that most of the date coded parts like switches and anything with a code seem to come from the May-June (weeks) of 69. the car was built on 8/7/1969.
so it seems consistent with whatever stock system they used
