I think at a certain point the tags became plastic - it must have been between before September & December '62

Good day,

I know found an unmolested 3.8 pedal box with all 3 labels on the master cylinder. Just to help with date and number of tags.

The date on the plastic tags says 12/62.
If nobody has an earlier date, we could as per today agree that the aluminum tags were used until 11/62.

Hi Maikel

That's a great find (and definitely worthy of an update within the 3.8 Factory Fit section).

So... for those of us with post Dec '62 3.8 cars, the hunt is now on for someone who could supply replica plastic tags as opposed to the Aluminium tags. Has anyone had any success with this in the past. If not, could someone produce a template from a tag they already possess?

A 3D printer would make relatively quick work of the plastic tags if someone has a sample.

Another vote for a supply of plastic tags. Much larger market too. BTW those aluminium ones look great.

I have one sample - were they all the same?

I could arrange for printing them.
