#1 reverse light switch replacement

Hi , II think my reverse switch is defective, is it difficult to replace? Accessibility? what must be disassembled to access it?
Jaguar MK2 1967 since 1980
MGA 1500 roadster 1957 since 1982
Lotus Seven 1963 since 2015
XKE S1 1964 OTS since 2023

It's mounted on the top of the gear box so the console & transmission cover need to be removed.

There are so many repairs in an E that begin with "remove the front seats".


As a tip to make the console much easier to remove, slacken and disconnect the handbrake cable at the rear near the IRS so the handbrake lever can be positioned to near vertical. Yes, while that seems like more work overall, wresting the console over a handbrake lever that is not near vertical can result in damage to the console or dash.
