#1 dampers and wheels advice

Post by art_of_war » Tue Jun 28, 2016 3:28 pm

Hi all!

If you'd have an opportunity to give a piece of a advice, would appreciate

What dampers, front and rear, you would recommend for an E-type (S1), if we're looking at a harder, than stock, option... at SNG Barrat I can see, that for the front they offer KONI FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER / DAMPER (PRODUCT CODE: C20011KON) and also adjustable option of GAZ adjustable dampers (RODUCT CODE: C20011GAZADJ).... But I did not find yellow Koni sport option (Their sports series usually comes in yellow color)... what do you suggest? Also, do they need special springs? Same question for rear...

And second question is, looking for a set (4) of crome wire wheels, 15 * 7J (wide wheels), maybe someone got a set in great condition for sale? pls PM

Thank you! :drinkingcheers:

I have 3 series 1 E Types.

I have tried all of the available options; Boge, Gaz and Koni.

In my view the cheapest option, that is standard Boges front and rear, and reusing the original rear springs that came with the car, gives the best ride.

You do not want to make the E Type suspension stiffer, especially at the rear.

Thank you mate, so you suggest the stock option without any problem and it is stiff enough

I am asking as we have a Koni now, and I was wondering if stock is better

Koni do not suit the E-Type and you are paying a premium for adjustability that you will never use. I got rid of Koni"s on both my car's and replaced them with Boge; the ride and handling are much improved.
