#1 Door gaps

Post by Bernie2015 » Thu Mar 30, 2017 12:07 pm

Hi All,

can anyone offer some advice on how to improve this situation with both doors (Please see photos).
The upper and lopwer photos were taken with the doors closed showing large gaps at top front but flush with car at rear. Also starting to lose a bit of paint where it is binding on the frame - any suggestions welcome.

Hi Bernie.....you can adjust the doors....requires the hinges moveing....these doors are heavy and on a 2+2 that area is always difficult to get to look correct....also dosnt help if tne doors have been ever been re skinned....you can try yourself but might be earier to get a body shop to look at it.....mask up all the edges becaus its very easy to damage even more paint

Before you go to the body shop, make sure you have minimal play in the door hinges. If they are worn (and the 2+2 hinges wear quickly once they start to go) there is no point trying to set them up.

Hinges can be re-pinned.
