A thousand apologies if this has been discussed allready.
My driver's side main and dip beam doesn't work. Passenger side works fine. Sidelights on both sides are fine, although the driver's side sidelight goes dim when I turn on the dip beam. I've run a new earth to a nearby screw, and everything works properly. So, I have a bad earth connection, which, after further investigation, appears to be on the earth leading out of the headlamp bowl.
My question is, where does this earth wire run to, and where does it terminate?
Thanks as ever.
Andrew.
Headlight earth
#2 Re: Headlight earth
Pretty sure all the earths from all the bonnet lights return to one point (bullet connector) near the bonnet plug on the near side and from there back through the bonnet plug although I can't recall which pin. Jaguar did not want to rely on an earth via the bonnet hinges presumably. I'd guess the wire from the headlight has become detached or corroded somewhere in the region of the bonnet plug...

Thanks. I found the block connector near to the 8 pin plug. I was looking for it inside the engine bay (doh!) but of course found it by looking through the front mouth of the car.
In the end, I found a bad connection on the other side of the car. I replaced the Lucar connector, and now have light again!
