#1 indicator bulbs on the dash

Post by Ronald Littlewood » Sat Oct 02, 2021 8:58 am

Hi I have tried replacing the dash bulbs with led,s but they didnt work , There are 2 flying leads that take leds & the flash in time with the indicators , perhaps the PO has tried this before?
Also the charging system will not work with an led bulb in the ignition lamp holder ?
Quite strange. any ideas ? TIA

Yes charging wont work as not enough current through led to exite the alternator field.....probably same with indicators..you need to do a bit of resesrch to use led replacements....Steve

Dear Ronald,

this is quite normal and expected behaviour. It is well documented, both on this website and all over the interweb. I suggest you simply continue using the original filament bulbs for these two applications.

kind regards
Marek
