#1 Kienzle clock

Post by spotdoc67 » Sun Dec 17, 2017 8:29 pm

Hi
I have a 1969 series 2 FHC that has a Kienzle clock fitted
A couple of questions...
Is that the correct clock for the car?
It doesn't work. How can I test it and repair it?

Thanks
Tom

the Series 2 came with a Smiths clock.
CET-3201/00 for FHC up to 1R24424 1R26834 ( this clock had a little battery on its back)
CTE-3107/01 for FHC from 1R24425 1R26835 ( this clock ran off the +12v car battery)

from the front they appear very similar with a change in the model number and "Made in UK" moved from under the 6 to up in the top right over the numeral 1

the only source I know of is Jaguarclock.com to fix or replace the mechanism with a modern one.

I had the clock shown in the picture above. Had a small battery. Checked and replaced the connectors with a bit of solder. Still didn't work. Bashed it on the table, and away it went. Been going ever since (with the occasional battery change)

Hi Tom,
Being based in the UK, you will need to send it to Mike Eck via Coolcat in America to get it repaired.
Here's the link:
www.coolcatcorp.com
and the jaguarclock link is near the bottom on the index.
Just about to send mine off to him to as it stop starting a lot and is now unreliable
